Bill Skarsgårdis getting into the clown suit again for the ‘It’ prequel, ‘Welcome to Derry’

‘Welcome to Derry’ will show viewers the story before ‘It’, with a premiere on Max set for 2025.

Update:
Muchas personas le tienen miedo a los payasos, en parte, por esta historia. King escribió It en 1986.

More than 1,000 pages of the novel were enough for a three-part miniseries in the 90s, as well as a remake, this time in two installments. ‘It: Chapter 1′ and ‘It: Chapter 2′ were both huge box office hits, with a fantastic incarnation of the evil clown Pennywise by Bill Skarsgård. The actor of Swedish origin was so happy with his role that he has already been confirmed to be putting on the clown suit again for ‘Welcome to Derry’, a prequel series for Max that just got the green light and would presumably be released throughout 2025.

Skarsgård continues to make a name for himself in horror films, and to the two films based on Stephen King’s novel, we must add ‘Barbarian’, one of the best horror films of recent years, as well as in the upcoming ‘Nosferatu’,a revisit to the classic among vampire classics. The actor is one of the most popular names of hollywood at the moment, and after playing the villain in ‘John Wick 4′, he also starred in the frenetic ‘Boy kills world’ and the remake of ‘The Crow’, whose first trailer has left mixed feelings among fans of the original.

Return to the most popular town in Stephen King’s imagination

Directed by Andrés Muschietti (‘The Flash’), between them, both ‘It’ movies managed to raise over a billion dollars, and on this occasion the story will return in the form of a prequel, for which Madeleine Stowe, Stephen Rider, Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, and James Remar have already been confirmed. However, it is unknown when the plot of ‘Welcome to Derry’ will be set, although everything seems to indicate that it could be set even before the death of George Denbrough, Bill’s little brother, exploring the origins of Pennywise and the curse of this fictional town in Maine.

“I’m excited that the story of Derry, Maine’s most haunted city, is continuing, and I’m glad Andy Muschietti is going to be overseeing the frightening festivities, along with a brain trust including his talented sister, Barbara. Red balloons all around!” said Stephen King upon hearing the news.
