Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has achieved this great record despite criticism

Activision Blizzard compares some data from the Sledgehammer Games installment with the two previous installments of the trilogy.

Update:
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

A shooting battle against Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, the conclusion of the new trilogy reimagined from the original work of Infinity Ward, this time in the hands of Sledgehammer Games. The title has been received in a hostile way by certain members of the community and critics, although that has not prevented the numbers to go with it. At least that’s what Activision defends, pointing out that the game has managed to gather a massive number of players.

“Thank you for a historic launch. Just two weeks in, MWIII has already set records with the highest engagement in the new Modern Warfare Trilogy!,″ they said in a statement on social media. “Thank you for inspiring us and spending so much time in this game. Your feedback and passion continually make us better.” According to the studio, they are preparing much more content for the future, which is not surprising considering that they draw roadmaps a year ahead until the next installment arrives.

What has Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 achieved?

Accompanying the press release, Activision and Sledgehammer Games have established three milestones achieved after the launch: the California company claims that this third installment has added more hours per player than Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2, and the Zombies mode has become one of the most successful in the history of the franchise. Although criticism of the campaign has been fierce, Activision’s data indicates - without providing specific figures - that players have invested more time in it than in the story mode of Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is now available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS4, PS5 and PC.

Recently, the studio took action against Gaia’s skin of Season 1, a controversial skin that they had to disable for additional adjustments.
