Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will say goodbye to Gaia, the most controversial skin of Season 6 of Warzone and Modern Warfare 2... at least temporarily. Sledgehammer Games has confirmed that they will be removing the operator skin from the game in order to work on specific adjustments to improve their visibility. Thanks to the transfer system of content to the new installment, skins like the one mentioned are fully compatible.

“Adjustments to Gaia and Gaia Blackcell Operator Skins are in the pipeline for Modern Warfare III” says the studio in a question and answer session held on Reddit. “In a future game update, we’ll disable this item until said changes can be released to all players.”

The most controversial Call of Duty skins in the past: from Roze to LA Thieves

It is not the first time that the series has faced changes in this style. We have recently had cases like the LA Thieves skins, an eSports team in Modern Warfare 2. Its dark appearance, with hardly any details, gave it an obvious advantage in spaces where there is hardly any lighting. Being a paid operator, many pointed to the obvious advantage it gave to those who bought it. Eventually, Infinity Ward corrected it by adding some red details on the front of the shirt.

And if we look further back, specifically at the original version of Call of Duty: Warzone, many veterans will remember the mythical Dark Roze. The level 100 reward for Season 5 of Modern Warfare (2019) incorporated the three variants that gave the community so many headaches. It was a dark time for the game (and never better said), since the players had already raised their voices on more than one occasion about other controversies.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is now available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
