Chainsaw Man Movie Reze Arc

Sony Pictures announced this Monday that it acquired the global rights to the theatrical release of ’Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc. This marks a significant moment for the franchise, as Sony’s acquisition of worldwide rights to the film ensures a streamlined global rollout across over 80 countries. Fans can experience the movie in Japan starting September 19, 2025, followed by international premieres kicking off September 24, 2025, a win for reducing delays between domestic and international anime releases.

The movie, based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s wildly popular manga, adapts the emotional and action-packed “Bomb Girl” arc. Directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara and produced by MAPPA, it promises stunning visuals and a gripping story as Denji encounters Reze, a pivotal character whose impact on his life drives much of the arc’s tension and excitement.

Sony’s involvement adds an important dimension to the ’Chainsaw Man series. With its global distribution power, Sony continues to elevate anime’s presence on the international stage, treating films like ’Chainsaw Man as not just niche entertainment but major cinematic events. This approach is especially relevant given the series’ widespread popularity, it’s one of the few franchises capable of pulling in audiences beyond traditional anime fans.

For U.S. fans, the movie is set for October 29, 2025, and it feels like perfect timing (just before Halloween). As MAPPA cements its status as a powerhouse animation studio with acclaimed projects like ’Jujutsu Kaisen and ’Attack on Titan, ’Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is clearly expected to create a lot of buzz, and grow the anime’s fanbase in the U.S.

This milestone underscores Chainsaw Man‘s journey from manga panels to a full-fledged global sensation. With Sony Pictures championing its worldwide release, the franchise’s ability to connect across cultures and markets solidifies its status as a cultural phenomenon.
