Chris Pratt confirms his return to the MCU ahead of the new Avengers: “There was a promise that Star-Lord would return”
The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star will be back, but the actor won’t confirm when.

Star-Lord is coming back to the MCU. This has been announced by Chris Pratt himself, who in statements on Jimmy Kimmel Live has revealed the intention of Marvel Studios to bring back the protagonist of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. Of course, the interpreter has bitten his tongue when it comes to reveal more details, so it is unknown when, how and where exactly it will happen. “Is this something you can share with us? Will Star-Lord be a part of this?” asked Kimmel, referring to the upcoming Avengers movies.
“For people who know the Marvel world, we did ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. III’, it was the last time you saw Star-Lord in there. There was a promise that Star-Lord would return. So all I can say is we will make good on that promise,” he assured. “I feel like there’s a Marvel sniper somewhere,” he joked.

Robert Downey Jr. confirmed for upcoming film
Whether the leader of the Guardians or other characters from the trilogy will appear in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ or ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is still a mystery, unlike the presence of Robert Downey Jr., who will return to the MCU not as Iron Man, but as the film’s villain. The actor who played Tony Stark will play Doctor Doom in the new Marvel production. It is rumored that Chris Evans - the former Captain America - will also appear, although nothing has been officially announced yet.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ opens May 1, 2026. Secret Wars’ will be released one year later.
