Colman Domingo (‘Fear the Walking Dead’) addresses the rumors of him being Marvel’s new Kang

New rumors point to the MCU’s Multiverse Saga getting a new Kang, with fingers pointing at Actor Colman Domingo as a possibility and the actor himself responding to the situation.

Colman Domingo recast Jonathan Majors Kang Marvel Studios

Colman Domingo, the renowned actor who played Victor Strand in ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ and stars in ‘The Color Purple’, has been sounding for a few days as a substitute for Jonathan Majors in the role of Kang the Conqueror, after the latter was fired for charges of assault and harassment against his ex-partner. The actor has now reacted to the rumors that place him as the new villain of the current Multiverse Saga of the MCU as a recast of the role left vacant by the aforementioned Majors. During an interview with ET Online during the Palm Springs Film Festival, the actor expressed his excitement at this possibility, although he acknowledges he knows nothing about it at all.

Colman Domingo wants to be a villain in Marvel or DC

Domingo addressed the rumors that claim that he is very well positioned to pick up the baton left behind by Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror: “I don’t know, I’m always looking at what I have to do right now... I know there’s talk and conversations around, and I don’t know how much is true,” he admits. “I don’t even get that from my team, I can’t tell if it’s true or not. The fans are passionate. Somehow my name is out there in the world [and] I like the idea of just having your name called and someone speaking lovingly and kindly about something is a beautiful thing.”

Let us remember that some time ago, Colman Domingo even shared his interest in playing a Marvel or DC villain: “When it comes to Marvel and DC, I’m like, ‘I think I’m ready now.’ I’m worked out, fit, I think I want to play a villain. I just want to be the villain. I don’t want to be the good guy. I actually want to do some really nasty, dirty work,” he said when asked about him joining the superhero genre.

For now, ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty’ has changed its title to ‘Avengers 5′, while the latest rumors claim that it could end up being called ‘Avengers: Secret Wars - Part 1′, with a premiere scheduled for 2026 and a second part that would arrive a year later.
