‘Daredevil: Born Again’ explains Matt Murdock’s starting point in the new series
The first episode marks a before and after for the character.

Years after the end of the Netflix series, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ the characters and most of the actors who played them are back! Time has passed, but the city is still threatened by criminals trying to make Hell’s Kitchen bleed. What has happened to Matt Murdock over the years? At a press conference attended by MeriStation, the leading actor, Charlie Cox, has explained what is the starting point of his character. Without diving into spoilers, the interpreter confirmed that Matt suffers a terrible trauma during the first episode of the series.
“It’s hard to talk without spoilers, but at the beginning, Matt suffers a trauma. That means, he has to rethink and rediscover his identity in probably a deeper way than we’ve seen before. He ends up choosing a path that I think is well described as a band-aid that has to be slowly and painfully peeled off. However, for fans of the original series he will be the same Matt Murdock, just influenced by his experiences.” Vincent D’Onofrio, Kingpin, teased that Daredevil still bothers him.
Hero and villain, two characters, two traumas
“Even though we’re both trying to live in the light of day, we have that in common,” D’Onofrio explained. “We’re broken. If you think about the metaphor of a vampire trying to live in the daylight, it’s a struggle that they’re living. He’s got his thing and I’ve got my plan, you can’t put us in the same scene too much because it’s not as powerful if you do.”
The first two episodes of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ arrive on Disney+ as early as March 4.
