FromSoftware

Dark Souls with a fixed camera like in Resident Evil is “an absolute nightmare”, according to its creator

While the results are spectacular, the idea of playing Dark Souls with a fixed camera doesn’t seem to be the best way to play FromSoftware’s title.

No matter how much time passes for Dark Souls, which for many is the best game in the history of FromSoftware, it will always be a good day to talk about it. Today, for example, since the Twitter —or X— user Illusory Wall (we love his name) is preparing a mod that applies the fixed cameras of Resident Evil and other survival horror of yesteryear to the action RPG, and the result is curious to say the least.

If you look at the following video, the truth is that visually it is very pleasant and the section of the New Londo Ruins chosen by the creator of the mod is perfect to make it look like a survival horror from the 90s, those in which we almost always saw this type of fixed cameras. Of course, he himself assures that playing with tank controls it would be “an absolute nightmare.” Imagine fighting Ornstein and Smough like this in the great hall of Anor Londo.

Have you played Dark Souls yet?

After the resounding success of Elden Ring and other titles like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Bloodborne, millions of players have already entered the world of Lordran. If you’re not one of them, then no problem, because currently you have a fantastic opportunity to find out thanks to Dark Souls Remastered, a version with renewed graphics and the possibility of playing cooperatively through a private game, among other new features.
