Bungie has decided to delay the launch of the last expansion of the current Destiny 2 story arc. The Final Shape is now aiming for a release on June 4, 2024 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. The company, now as part of PlayStation, revealed the new roadmap that they will follow until the arrival of the upcoming expansion, including a new content update titled “Destiny 2: Into the Light.”

Destiny 2 schedule until The Final Form

The studio has had to look for solutions to fill the months of content that the delay of The Final Form opens. Destiny 2: Into the Light will arrive in April to “prepare players for their Guardian’s journey into the Traveler”. It will last two months and will be accessible at no additional cost to the entire community.

Until that moment arrives, things remain as follows: . Most of the content, including the narrative, will run through the month of February, as previously planned. From that moment on, new content will be introduced to the game to expand the universe.

A new quest chain with weekly progress called Wishes will be added in February, which will be accompanied by new Moments of Triumph with “unique rewards.” It will not be until March when the Guardian Games begin, which will renew the traditional competition in ways that have not yet happened.. Finally, three new maps for PvP are expected to be released in May.

Delays aren’t fun”, Bungie acknowledges in a statement published on their website. “For our part, we are excited to have the extra time needed to bring our vision for The Final Shape to life for all of you. We’re looking forward to sharing much more in April, including all-new gameplay, to showcase the significant content additions currently in development.”
