‘Elden Ring’ film reportedly finishes production as deleted post leaks milestone
Director Alex Garland’s adaptation is now entering post-production ahead of its March 2028 release.
Video game adaptations for the big screen remain as popular as ever, and one of the upcoming films will be the ‘Elden Ring’ adaptation, which has already wrapped up production.
Although this was not officially announced by either A24 or Bandai Namco, it was thanks to an Instagram post—since deleted—by prop artist Sean Schofield that the end of production was revealed. The image showed a gift to the production team—a branded backpack and a clapperboard keychain—as well as a thank-you letter signed by director Alex Garland and producers Allon Reich, Matthew Penry-Davey, Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald, and Charlie Reed.
“Dear cast and crew, thank you for your incredibly hard work on Elden Ring,” the message reads. “Your skill, dedication, and all-round professionalism were integral in bringing this unique project to life. We wish you a well-earned rest. Thank you and very best wishes, Alex, Allon, Matthew, Peter, Andrew and Charlie.”
Apparently, Schofield himself deleted his Instagram post and made it private, as it is no longer available.
A Long Wait for the Lands Between
Production on the ‘Elden Ring’ movie began in late April, and with that announcement came the release date and cast. The film, directed by Alex Garland, stars Kit Connor (Heartstopper), Ben Whishaw (Skyfall), Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus), Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes), and Nick Offerman (The Last of Us). The cast also includes Tom Burke, Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Ruby Cruz, John Hodgkinson, Jefferson Hall, Emma Laird, and Peter Serafinowicz..

That said, it will be a long time before we see the Lands Between on the big screen, since ‘Elden Ring’ is set to hit theaters on March 3, 2028.
