Prime Video

Fallout Season 2 will take us “to another level,” according to one of its stars

Walton Goggins raises expectations for Fallout Season 2

We are in a great moment for video game adaptations to other media. The return of The Last of Us is proof of that, and of course the first season of Fallout did an incredible job of translating the experience to television. With all of that in mind, the second season of the Prime Video series is already filming, and one of the actors has high hopes for it.

In a recent interview, Walton Goggins, who brings The Ghoul and Cooper Howard to life, shared his expectations for Fallout Season 2 and what The Wasteland has in store for us, considering that once the world is established, it’s a lot easier than “this story just takes it to a whole other level.”

“We’re deep into season 2 of Fallout. Now that people understand what the world is, this story just takes it to a whole other level,” said Goggins. “I’ve been around a long time, and usually, a show that people are attracted to, with that license, the second season really starts cooking, right? That’s when some real magic can happen. And we’re deep into season 2. It says a lot about a lot—it stays in the lanes of the tone that was set but then veers outside of them in the most interesting ways.”

Fallout Season 2 still has no release date

For now, we’ll just have to wait and see if Goggins’ words are true. Fallout Season 2 was officially greenlit back in April 2024, just a few days after Season 1 premiered. At the time, Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet had an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in which they talked about a possible release date for the next season, hoping to “get Season 2 out as soon as humanly possible.”
