First image of Daredevil in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3 wearing a costume that brings back painful memories for fans
Filming for Season 3 of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ reveals the return of the black-and-red suit, linked to Shadowland and a darker chapter for Matt Murdock.
Filming for ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3 is currently underway, and there are plenty of leaked images that are offering clues about where the story is headed. We’ve seen Wilson Fisk, Bullseye (in an awesome new costume), and the long-awaited return of Elektra… But we’re afraid that the first image released of the protagonist himself isn’t going to leave fans very satisfied—after all, black and red don’t exactly bring back fond memories.
We’d already caught a glimpse of it in a rather low-quality video, but the image leaves no room for doubt: Daredevil will be wearing the black-and-red suit in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3. What does this mean for the Man Without Fear?
First of all, it’s important to understand that the presence of this outfit doesn’t necessarily mean anything at all, but it’s important to know where it comes from. It was in the ‘Shadowland’ arc—part of Andy Diggle’s controversial run—that Daredevil wore these colors, and given what we know about the third season, along with the appearance of The Hand in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ a lot of pieces fall into place.
In that story, Matt Murdock becomes a darker person than ever before—which is saying something—going so far as to cross moral lines and become even more violent. Other characters make an appearance, such as Iron Fist and Luke Cage—both of whom will return in the third season—and Daredevil even becomes the leader of The Hand. All of these elements are simply pieces of a puzzle that are starting to come together for fans, who aren’t entirely convinced by this direction.
The reality is that, although it’s considered one of the most appealing costumes in the character’s history, most fans believe it works exclusively within the context of this specific story arc. In fact, Saladin Ahmed brought it back in his recent run on ‘Daredevil,’ sparking a very negative reaction—though, to be honest, Ahmed’s entire run has been heavily criticized for various reasons.
When does the third season of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ premiere?

Although there is no specific date yet, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3 will most likely arrive on Disney+ in the spring of 2027, which is in line with the release schedule of the previous two seasons. Following the Season 2 finale, we’ll see Matt Murdock after he’s revealed his identity as Daredevil and is now in prison, with Wilson Fisk also in disarray following his downfall as mayor of New York.
