Talking about The Last of Us: Part 3 is undoubtedly a dream come true for the millions of fans of Naughty Dog’s PlayStation saga. So far there are two installments, while on the other hand there is the Max series (formerly HBO), whose second season premieres next April 14. A little over a year ago, Neil Druckman, the creator of the franchise, fooled players by letting slip that he had plans for a third installment, but his new statements seem to indicate the opposite...
In an interview with Variety, Neil Druckmann commented on various aspects of the second season of the series, and of course, the interviewer asked him the million dollar question: will he ever make The Last of Us 3? The answer was a bucket of cold water for fans, as the creative leader of Naughty Dog left the future of the series up in the air.
“I was waiting for this question. I guess the only thing I would say is don’t bet on there being more of ‘Last of Us.’ This could be it.” A statement as terse as it is, in principle, forceful in this regard, since going from slipping that there are plans for a new game to inviting us not to expect anything more is not exactly what fans of Ellie, Joel, and company wanted to hear.
