Google I/O 2025 unveiled its advances in AI, but Veo 3 promises more video content through Flow

This week, Google held its I/O 2025 presentation, where it revealed many new features coming to its services: from Android XR, focused on augmented reality, to improvements in Gemini, which seeks to integrate even more as our personal assistant with functions such as Deep Think. The most striking announcement, though, was Google’s advance in audiovisual production with the unveiling of Flow, a video creation tool powered by its most advanced AI models: Veo, Imagen, and Gemini.

What does Flow allow you to do?

Flow aims to offer filmmakers and creators a more efficient and accessible way to generate clips and scenes. It works by building individual “ingredients” - such as the shot, the setting, the characters or the action - through prompts, which can then be combined into a single scene, achieving more complex and coherent results that would be difficult to achieve by other means.

To empower users’ creativity, Flow incorporates several key features. “Camera Controls” offer precise control over camera movement, angles and perspectives, enabling filmmakers to get the desired framing. “Scenebuilder,” on the other hand, makes it easy to edit and extend existing shots, making it possible to reveal more details of the action or make smooth transitions between scenes with continuous movements and consistent characters. The “Asset Management” function simplifies the organization of all the elements and prompts used, while “Flow TV” acts as a showcase of inspiration, displaying clips and content generated with Veo, with the particularity that users can see the exact instructions and techniques used to learn and adapt new styles.

When can I use Flow?

Flow is now available to Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers in the United States, with plans to expand to more countries in the future. Google AI Pro offers Flow’s core features with a 100 monthly generation limit, while Google AI Ultra provides higher usage limits and early access to Veo 3, which includes native audio generation to add ambient sounds and dialogue to videos.
