How trading will work in Pokémon TCG Pocket: Requirements and limitations for trading repeat cards
Creatures confirms how players will be able to trade their replayed cards.

Pokémon TCG Pocket will soon bring the community’s most anticipated feature to the game. The trading system was one of the elements promised during the launch of the game in October 2024, but it won’t be until sometime this January that it will officially debut. While we wait for the date, the game’s developers have revealed the requirements that the system will have in order to be used.
The Pokémon TCG Pocket Trading System in 5 Key Points
- Trades can be done between friends.
- Trades can be done with cards of the same rarity.
- Tradeable cards are standard rarities between levels 1 and 4. Cards of level 1 star rarity can also be traded.
- An item must be consumed to complete the transaction (to be specified).
- At launch, only “certain cards” from the Genetic Apex and Mythic Island expansions will be tradeable. More will be added over the months.
Now let’s talk about nuance. The penultimate point cannot be overlooked. Apparently, completing the exchange will require the use of a unique item associated with the feature. Currently, players can receive a coupon, the use of which will be “revealed soon”. Could this be it? Will an existing coupon be reused? We will have to wait and see.
Regarding the cards that can be modified, it is confirmed for the moment that all basic cards will be available for modification, i.e. between levels 1 and 4 diamonds. This includes the original Ex cards. Among the “rarer” cards, only level 1 Star cards, i.e. the most basic cards of the rank, can be exchanged.
