‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ confirms an extended finale episode, bringing The Culling Game Part 1 to an end
The conclusion of The Culling Game Part 1 reshapes the focus of the series.

The winter anime season is about to come to an end, and one of the most popular shows of the moment, 'Jujutsu Kaisen,' will wrap up with a special extended episode.
According to the anime’s official website, episode 12 of the third season—the 59th episode overall—will have an extended runtime of 27 minutes on March 26. This episode concludes ‘The Culling Game – Part 1,’ marking a hiatus in the broadcast until further notice. It’s worth noting that this season has already featured non-standard episodes since its premiere, with the first two episodes airing on the same day and running a combined total of nearly an hour.
The Long Farewell to Yuji Itadori
Although there is still no official word on when the anime will return, one thing is clear: it will be quite some time before we see Yuji Itadori as the central character in the animated adaptation again. Barring significant changes to the source material, it could be several years before the character returns to the forefront of the series. This is mainly due to the narrative structure of ‘The Culling Game’, an arc designed to expand the series’ universe and make room for other sorcerers. The story unfolds across multiple storylines, allowing new characters to develop and engage in combat without everything revolving around the protagonist.

It remains to be seen how this pace will translate in the anime, but the message is clear: we’re at a point where Yuji Itadori isn’t the focus of the story—at least for now.
