Kevin Costner’s western revival ‘Horizon: An American Saga’ gets its first teaser
Kevin Costner’s new movie, ‘Horizon: An American Saga’, aims to pay tribute to the history of the Western genre in Hollywood with about what it means to be American.
The old rockers never die. Neither do old cowboys. And at 68 years old, Kevin Costner is hell-bent on not letting the Western genre die. The actor, director, screenwriter and at this point, almost everything in production, will return in 2024 with a new movie after more than three years since his last one. This is ‘Horizon: An American Saga’, a story in two parts whose first synopsis reads like this:
“In the great tradition of Warner Bros. Pictures’ iconic Westerns, “Horizon: An American Saga” explores the lure of the Old West and how it was won—and lost—through the blood, sweat and tears of many. Spanning the four years of the Civil War, from 1861 to 1865, Costner’s ambitious cinematic adventure will take audiences on an emotional journey across a country at war with itself, experienced through the lens of families, friends and foes all attempting to discover what it truly means to be the United States of America.”.
Although the first trailer (above these lines) does not reveal much, we do know that the films will be directed, written, and starring Kevin Costner, who will be accompanied by a truly incredible cast and now even has a release date for both films: the first part will be released on June 28, 2024 and the second on August 16, 2024.
