Kojima was so sick in 2020 that he even wrote a Last Will

Hideo Kojima recently announced Physint, a new action espionage game on which he will begin working with PlayStation starting in 2025. The Japanese creator spoke more about the game during an interview, also confessing how sick he became in 2020 and the words by Guillermo del Toro that saved him in one of the moments of greatest doubt in his entire career.

Then, I fell ill in 2020. It was also during the pandemic, so I was sick and isolated during all of that. They even operated on me. And I thought: “I can’t take it anymore.” I was at my lowest point and felt like I couldn’t make games again. I even wrote a testament. And at that moment, I realized that people die. But last year I turned 60. I’ll be 70 in ten years. I hope I never retire. Finally, he spoke about his possible approach to Hollywood and the enormous importance Guillermo del Toro had in a moment when he was full of doubts: “I receive many requests from Hollywood to make films, but I have rejected them.
