And during the first matches of the competition, we0ve already seen some incredible moments.
Being the second of two Play-In games that took place during Worlds 2023′s first day of matches, the confrontation between LOUD and GAM Esports saw the first pentakill of the championship. It was at the hands of LOUD’s own AD Carry, Route, while playing as Kai’Sa. The player managed the feat by the end of the first match, leading to their victory. At this point of the game, Route had an amazing KDA of 11/0/5. You can watch the whole thing below.
LOUD managed to defend well against GAM Esports famous aggression, managing the hits for the first 20 minutes of the match, just to completely turn the tides around and completely railroad the other team. Route ended up being the key to his team’s victory, with kill after kill in the game’s last teamfight to secure the enemy Nexus ending swiftly.
The next match between the two continued this trend, with LOUD absolutely dominating the Summoner’s Rift. While it was a close game, GAM Esports didn’t manage to even the odds during the second try, ending in a quick and definitive victory for the tournament’s first match. LOUD moves on to the Group’s upper bracket, while GAM Esports will now need to fend for themselves in the lower brackets.
