Huge things are coming to Fortnite, as the Big Bang event revealed just a few days ago: entire new games are joining the Battle Royale, and one of them transforms the island into LEGO with an interesting premise. We now have our first cinematic trailer, and there’s plenty to be excited about.
While the trailer itself doesn’t showcase any actual gameplay, it’s a pretty clear indicator of the kind of experience that has been crafted by Epic Games and LEGO. LEGO Fortnite is aiming to be a new game centered around exploring a huge world, surviving against enemies, building and crafting tools, weapons, and even buildings, and delving into amazing dungeons and caverns.
The mode is said to feature a variety of adapted Fortnite outfits, meaning players will be able to bring their favorite looks from the Battle Royale to the new survival experience. With update v28.00, over 1,200 outfits have been transformed into LEGO Style ready to be used by players when the game releases on December 7, 2023. There is no extra cost to these LEGO Styles, as you’ll get them at no extra cost for everything you own in your Locker automatically. Several Emotes will also be usable with these styles, although so far there is no more information about which.
A new era of Fortnite
Announced during its latest live in-game event, Fortnite revealed that three other games will be available from inside their platform. Now, Fortnite Save the World and Fortnite Battle Royale will be joined by LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing (a racing game developed by Psyonix, the creators of Rocket League), and Fortnite Festival (A rhythm game by Harmonix, the creators of Rock Band).
All of these titles will be released starting on December 7, 2023 with LEGO Fortnite, while the other two will be launched on December 8 and 9 respectively.
