Margot Robbie received a nasty love letter from Jared Leto: “A black box with a...”

While DC is about to launch a new era with James Gunn and his ‘Superman’, we should not forget the recent past of DC Comics film adaptations, among which stands out a Superman of Henry Cavill that caused a sensation in its early days and became the target of many who did not empathize with the vision of its director. Be that as it may, there are several DCEU films that deserve a prominent memory, although David Ayer’s ‘Suicide Squad’ is not one of them. The reasons for its failure may be many, although the truth is that the cut that came to theaters was a real disaster, with little to rescue beyond Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, with an over-the-top Jared Leto who offered us a Joker as pitiful as hilarious. And it was Leto, precisely, who starred in one of the most disturbing actions of the shooting of the film, sending dark gifts to several of his co-stars as if it were the Joker himself. And Margot Robbie got the worst one of all; or maybe not?

And it seems that, as usual in the Oscar-winning actor and singer, Leto gets so into his roles that he is capable of anything on the set of filming. And as the Joker in ‘Suicide Squad’ he could not be less. Will Smith, who played Deadshot in the film, said, “He became the Joker. He really set the tone. He wasn’t taking it as a joke. He was a very serious actor. He got 100 percent into the character.” Another of the film’s cast colleagues, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who was Killer Croc, received Playboy magazines covered in a sticky substance; very sharp, Leto.

But perhaps the most obscure gift was a dead pig for the entire cast: “It was a good gift because it had the effect of unifying us as a group because then it became us against him. We sent the messenger back with the dead pig and our own personalized message. It got the ball rolling,” said the Killer Croc actor. Viola Davis also received her share: a box of bullets, something that didn’t sit very well with her: “It was a little worrisome. It made you a little bit nervous and I’m pretty tough. You know I got into a few fights when I was growing up... but it scared me a little bit.”

However, Margot Robbie, who played Harley Quinn, the Joker’s girlfriend, received the most disturbing gift: “He sent [Margot Robbie] a nice love letter with a black box with a rat in it-a live rat,” said actor Adam Beach, who played Slipknot. The surprise was that Margot Robbie received her disturbing gift with immense joy and even named the rat: Rat Rat.

This is what the actress explained in an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live in full promotion of the film ‘The Suicide Squad’ of 2021 by James Gunn, ensuring that she wanted to keep the rodent, but finally could not: “the landlord of the place I was renting found I had a rat and said Rat Rat had to go. And so then Jai Courtney, who plays Captain Boomerang, he said, ‘I’ll take Rat Rat,’ and then his landlord wasn’t cool with that either, and so then one of the costumers on the job took Rat Rat, and then she had to give Rat Rat away, and Rat Rat, she gave it to Guillermo Del Toro’s daughters apparently”, concluded the actress about the fate of her gift from Jared Leto.
