Marvel’s Blade is the next game from the creators of Dishonored 2 and Deathloop
Arkane Lyon, not the studio behind Redfall, also wanted to make a vampire game, but with a legendary character.
There were rumors that Arkane was preparing to announce Marvel’s Blade at The Game Awards 2023, a news confirmed during the event’s gala. Although Dishonored 3 was also rumored, it was this collaboration between Marvel and the Lyon-based studio that finally became a reality. Although there are still not many details about the game itself, director Dinga Bakaba took the stage to explain the proposal. The story will take place in the heart of Paris and will be a “mature third-person action” title.
In Marvel’s Blade, Eric Brooks is the legendary Daywalker, half man, half vampire. In the game, he will face unimaginable dangers. As Bakaba revealed, the entire studio is working hard to bring the project to the required quality. He defined it as a very Arkane game, but based on this Marvel saga.
Marvel’s Blade has no confirmed date or platforms, although Bethesda is owned by Xbox. You can see the teaser trailer below these lines.
Redfall’s stumble, one of the biggest blows for Bethesda
The studio behind Redfall is not the same as the one behind Dishonored. The saga starring Corvo Attano was developed by the French studio Arkane Lyon, while the vampire title was developed by the Austin studio. However, no one expected this disaster, as the studio had proven its talent with the fantastic Prey.
Bethesda Game Studios released Redfall on May 2nd for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, and Game Pass. Critics were not kind to Arkane’s work and made it clear that the game was not up to the task. However, the developers are still working on polishing the product to the maximum. A few weeks ago it received a patch to introduce 60 fps, an update that the studio had previously promised.
In addition to Redfall, Bethesda has marketed two other titles in 2023: the surprise of HI-FI Rush, the musical action game from Tango Gameworks (the studio behind The Evil Within), has sounded strong. It was one of the winners during The Game Awards 2023. On the other hand, Starfield looked to the stars and received a nomination for the awards, but came up empty-handed.
