Insomniac Games

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has some “really cool surprises” in its side content

Insomniac Games is promising incredibly high-quality side missions and activities in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Update:
Marvel's Spiderman 2

Recently we were able to play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is promising to be one of the biggest releases of the year, and of course, the most important exclusive of 2023 for PlayStation 5. Although, as we have been able to glimpse in the different trailers that have appeared and corroborated in our impressions, it’s sticking closely to the main aspects of the first two games, although it does have a lot more in store for us, and some of these improvements can be seen in the side activities and missions of the title.

At Insomniac Games, they claim to have made “a big effort” with all of the secondary content, which they claim will have a fairly important narrative component.

“We’ve added a lot of great side content,” Jacinda Chew, the game’s art director, said in an interview. “one of the things I know people love about our game is just the amount of narrative and story that we have in the world, so we’ve definitely made a big effort and pushed to put a lot of narrative into the side content, so I would tell people to please play those optional missions because you will see some really cool surprises”.

What did we think of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?

As we said before, a few days ago we were able to play it and were able to discover that one of the main improvements in the game will come from combat. “In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 we can also block and counterattack,” said our colleague David Arroyo. “The enemies, in addition to being more varied, launch new types of blows at us (different yellow, blue, red) and it is essential to identify them and know how to respond to each one. Battles have gained complexity and it is appreciated”.

And what about the powers of the black suit, new in this installment? “The symbiote’s abilities can be used even while wearing another suit, and in the parts of the story in which Peter does not have the symbiote, his techniques will become related to the new mechanical arms.”

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 arrives on the 20th of October exclusively on PlayStation 5.
