New Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning trailer shows off insane Tom Cruise stunts in the movie
Paramount Pictures has shared a new look behind the cameras of Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1, and some of Tom Cruise’s craziest stunts.
Tom Cruise has done it again. And again. And once more. And it probably won’t be the last time that he risks his life to achieve the best scenes for one of his favorite series: Mission Impossible. So much so that Paramount Pictures has shared a new making-of trailer in which we see good old Tom paragliding surrounded by cameras, thus achieving one of the riskiest and most spectacular sequences in the actor’s already long career. This is how they filmed the so called “Speedflying” scene for Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Part 1.
Tom Cruise and his riskiest scenes
Thus, after the famous motorcycle jump off a cliff, we now see how Tom Cruise stars in a new action scene executed by himself, without doubles, without cheating or tricks. So much so, that Cruise trained for hours and hours to learn how to paraglide down an impressive mountainside, including sharp turns at full speed to end up landing in the lowest part of the valley that served as the setting for this new feat.
We’ll have to wait and see what context this new scene is situated in which the actor, instead of leaving these activities to the stuntmen, stars in the entire stunt himself, jumping from the top of a mountain without qualms. Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Part 1 aims to become one of the most visually spectacular installments of the franchise, which is no small thing.
“Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, and dark forces from Ethan’s past closing in, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about most.”.says the official synopsis.
Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Part 1 opens in theaters on July 12, 2023.
