Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders return to the U.S.: Dates and pricing
Nintendo’s long-awaited console will be available for pre-order at the end of April.
Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are back on track in the United States. After weeks of uncertainty and speculation—brought on by the Trump administration’s imposition of new tariffs on the same day the console was announced and the subsequent 90-day suspension—the situation regarding the availability of Nintendo’s next console seemed to be up in the air. Fortunately, there is good news for fans who have been waiting anxiously.
Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders now have a date for the United States
In a short press release, Nintendo of America confirmed that Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders will begin on April 24, 2025. “We apologize for the retail pre-order delay, and hope this reduces some of the uncertainty our consumers may be experiencing. We thank our customers for their patience,” the statement read.
As for pricing, they will remain as announced on April 2:
- $449.99 for the console in its standalone version
- $499.99 for the bundle including Mario Kart World.
Speaking of game prices, they will also remain the same. The physical and digital versions of Mario Kart World will cost $80, while Donkey Kong Bananza will cost $70.
Not everything will remain the same, however, as the statement reads, “Nintendo Switch 2 accessories will experience price adjustments from those announced on April 2 due to changes in market conditions.” Although, for now, it does not mention how much the price of several accessories will change, and if all. It should be remembered that among these accessories are the Joy-Con 2, the new camera, among others.
In light of these changes, Nintendo is aware of the economic situation we find ourselves in, mentioning that “Other adjustments to the price of any Nintendo product are also possible in the future depending on market conditions.”
All that remains is to wait until April 24th for users in the United States to be able to reserve their console.
