Nintendo takes action against Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom artbook leaker
The Japanese company wants Discord to reveal the identity of the person who uploaded the book’s pages to a channel on the chat platform.
Nintendo is doing its best to keep the secrets of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the long-awaited new installment starring Link that will be released exclusively for Switch. However, some images of the art book were leaked some time ago, something the Japanese company has not overlooked. As published by TorrentFreak, now the company is seeking the help of Discord through legal means to reveal the identity of the user who perpetrated the leak.
Nintendo America has arranged for Discord to “disclose the identity, including the name(s), address(es), telephone number(s), and e-mail addresses(es) of the user Julien#2743, who is responsible for posting infringing content” on a platform channel dedicated to Tears of the Kingdom. On the other hand, in a now-deleted Reddit post, the leaker claimed to have received the artbook images from a friend, although the veracity of these claims has not yet been verified.
The art book is included in the Collector’s Edition of the video game, which also comes with a steelbook case, a special box, a set of pins, and a steel poster.
Information in dribs and drabs
The Japanese company has been very tight-lipped about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, making the official information to be almost nil. When it was announced, the title wasn’t even confirmed, only being referenced as the Sequel to Breath of the Wild, and it took years before Nintendo officially unveiled it. Nor has it been shown much beyond a couple of trailers and a gameplay video they shared just a few weeks ago.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch on May 15th. Nintendo is giving away an official Breath of the Wild book, so don’t miss your chance to get your hands on one.
