Not Snyder or Cavill: this is the funniest reaction to the ‘Superman’ trailer
Director James Gunn shares a hilarious video starring his own dog reacting very strongly to Krypto’s scene.

The first trailer for ’Superman’, the highly anticipated reboot kicking off James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Universe, was always going to make waves. With fans eagerly dissecting every frame, reactions have ranged from emotional to ecstatic. But none have been as unexpectedly hilarious as the one shared by Gunn himself.
On social media, James Gunn posted a video of his dog Ozu barking furiously at the screen during the trailer’s big moment: Krypto rushing to Superman’s rescue.
“This is my dog Ozu barking at the screen,” Gunn captioned.“Krypto was 3D-modeled after Ozu. We scanned Ozu, turned him white, and despite that, every time he sees Krypto onscreen he wants to kill himself.”
Ozu’s intense reaction has fans laughing across the internet, adding a lighthearted behind-the-scenes touch to a film that’s being closely watched by longtime DC supporters.
When does Superman premiere?
Mark your calendars: ’Superman’ hits U.S. theaters on July 11, 2025. The film stars David Corenswet as the Man of Steel and is the first official entry in the new DC Universe. James Gunn is both writing and directing the movie, with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult taking on the role of Lex Luthor.
The movie arrives as part of a massive summer for blockbusters, including ’28 Years Later’, ’Jurassic World: Rebirth’, and ’The Fantastic Four: First Flight’.
Up next in the DC slate? ’Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow‘, which has already begun filming, with the first on-set images starting to leak online.
