MCU

Pedro Pascal is in negotiations to play Reed Richards in Fantastic Four, according to Deadline

Rumor has it that Marvel Studios is eyeing Pascal to bring the leader of Marvel’s First Family to life in the MCU.

Update:
‘The Last of Us’ temporada 2 se producirá durante 2024 para estrenarse en 2025

Pedro Pascal, the actor we met on Game of Thrones and who has appeared in The Mandalorian, The Last of Us, and Wonder Woman 1984, will soon be making the jump to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, according to a new report that suggests he will be the next person to bring Fantastic Four leader Dr. Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic, to life.

Pedro Pascal is a strong candidate to become Mr. Fantastic

The report comes from Deadline, whose multiple sources close to the negotiations between Pascal and Marvel Studios point out that “it’s going in the right direction”. For now, the issue is the schedule of the actor, who has Gladiator 2, which is expected to begin production before the end of the year, and The Last of Us Season 2, which is expected to shoot in 2024, as upcoming projects. Other media sources, such as /Film, seem to confirm that Pascal has even signed a contract to lead Marvel’s First Family.

For now, and if confirmed, three more members would be missing to complete this group of Marvel superheroes. Although there have been several rumors about who might play Susan Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm (Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing, respectively), none have been confirmed yet. For now, the story of this new Fantastic Four movie has been in development for a long time with Matt Shakman (director on Game of Thrones, WandaVision, Succession and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters) at the helm of the project.

When will The Fantastic Four be released?

For now, the release date for The Fantastic Four as part of Phase 5 of the MCU is May 2, 2025. However, considering the tumultuous direction this cinematic universe is taking with Jonathan Majors’ legal troubles, and Destin Daniel Cretton’s departure as director of Avengers: Kang Dynasty, the date could still move.
