‘Pokémon Concierge’ season 2 announced on Netflix: what do we know so far?

The wholesome stop-motion animation of 2023 will be back on Netflix, with more episodes coming soon. Here’s everything we know about its return.

Update:
‘Pokémon Concierge’ season 2 announced on Netflix: what do we know so far?

Pokémon fans, rejoice: Netflix has announced that we’ll be returning to the Pokémon Resort to enjoy life with the Pocket Monsters, as new episodes of ‘Pokémon Concierge’ are now in production at Dwarf Studios.

The announcement was made via Netflix’s X/Twitter account, where Haru is meticulously working on the Psyduck puppet while the Psyduck from the series watches her. All the elements, from the Allen wrenches to the clamps and even the rig, are items used in the hard work of making a stop-motion animation and come on, even Haru’s face shows that effort. The tweet only mentions “New episodes of Pokémon Concierge are in production!!!” without giving any information or details about them.

What do we know about the new episodes of Pokémon Concierge?

Of course, the production details of these new episodes are being kept to a minimum. However, we do know that Iku Ogawa, series’ director, made the following statement to Variety:

“I am happy to let you know that we are now working on the new episodes for ‘Pokémon Concierge! Life at the Pokémon Resort continues. Please look forward to it! Let’s see which Pokémon will come visit as a guest this time!”

Previously, producer Hidegaga Katakami commented on the future of the series and what fans can expect:  “Because it’s on an island and we are near water, there are a lot of water-type Pokémon that appeared,” he said. “In the future, maybe we’ll have some more water-type Pokemon, but at the same time, maybe it’ll be interesting if you do the opposite. For example, electric-type Pokemon are not really good near water, but maybe it’s interesting if you bring them to a water-rich environment and see how they react.”

The series’ first season premiered on December 28, 2023, with only 4 episodes of 15 minutes each. The series introduced us to the Pokémon Resort and its main character, Haru, the resort’s new Pokémon Concierge. We can expect this new season to have another 4 episodes, considering the nature of stop-motion is very demanding. Considering that ‘Pokémon Concierge’ was introduced just last year during Pokémon Presents 2023, it wouldn’t be far-fetched for these new episodes to be released by the end of this year. We’ll keep a close eye on the release date as soon as it becomes official.
