QLED, OLED, and MiniLED: which type of screen is better?

TVs and monitors have quite a variety of models and technologies available on the market, but how do you know which type is better? Here are the differences between them.

Choosing a new TV is not an easy task, as there are models of all kinds that can fill us with doubts when looking for the best possible option. Words like OLED, QLED, or MiniLED enter the conversation, different technologies that can actually make a difference in our final decision. What does each of them offer? The differences are clear, and it is worth knowing them.

Differences between QLED, OLED and MiniLED

OLED technology offers us televisions with a panel that has flat light emission without the need of backlighting, thus shining each pixel individually when it receives electricity. Features such as pure deep black are achieved based on it. Televisions that have this technology are mostly considered high-end, which is why they stand out for having a high price.

Unlike OLEDs, if you’re looking for a more stable quality-price ratio, QLED technology is a great option. It is a conventional VA LCD-LED panel that is perfected with the installation of Quantum Dots (a technology that uses particles to absorb unwanted light waves and thus improve the purity of red and green colors) and seeks to achieve better ranges of colors and greater brightness.

Mini LED on the other hand is based on a type of backlighting that improves the most common LEDs. Unlike OLED and QLED, it is not a unique screen technology, but instead it is a type of array that can be used alongside other techniques like QLED.

What television to choose? In the end, it will depend on our budget, and if we do not want to reach four figures, QLED technology is a great option. If we already want to start with a higher investment, if we need a lot of brightness, a good option is a MiniLED QLED; while if brightness is not a problem, OLED technology is the best option.
