The change in panel technology is not the only improvement that the Steam Deck OLED will offer. Valve has introduced a higher capacity battery (50W), which together with changes such as the display will allow the autonomy to be extended between 30% and 50% longer than the original model. In addition, they point out that in an update they will make the AMD APU more efficient compared to what has been seen so far.

We also know that it will include Wifi 6E, which will allow it to have higher bandwidth and lower latency. They promise that downloads will be up to 3 times faster. It is also expected to be lighter and cooler thanks to a larger fan and other cooling improvements. The weight is expected to be reduced by 30g, 5% lighter, thanks to the screen change.

The screen is the big change that the Steam Deck OLED will offer. Its dimensions will be 7.4″, reaching a peak of 1000 nits when running the HDR function, another new feature. The refresh rate will increase to 90Hz.
