Samsung Unveils Galaxy Z Fold8, Flip8, Watch9, and AI-Powered Smart Glasses at Galaxy Unpacked 2026
The company introduced its latest foldables, wearables, and Agentic AI ecosystem during its annual hardware showcase in London.
Samsung officially unveiled its next generation of mobile devices during the 2026 Galaxy Unpacked event in London. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience at Samsung, outlined the company’s vision for an interconnected ecosystem powered by what it calls “Agentic AI.” Designed to work across multiple devices, the new AI platform aims to simplify everyday tasks, reduce the need to switch between apps, and provide more contextual assistance throughout the day. Alongside new foldable smartphones and smartwatches, Samsung also offered an early look at its upcoming smart glasses, while continuing to emphasize security and privacy through the Samsung Knox platform.
Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra
Leading Samsung’s announcements was the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, the company’s new flagship foldable smartphone. Samsung redesigned the device with a new Flex Titanium structure, replacing traditional polymer layers with a titanium-alloy film and flexible titanium plate. According to the company, the new construction reduces the visibility of the display crease while improving durability and supporting the updated Armor FlexHinge.
The Fold8 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, introducing a new AI-assisted gaming feature called Neural Frame Fusion. Samsung says the technology reconstructs pixels and frames in real time to improve visual performance during gameplay. The device also features a 5,000 mAh battery with a silicon-carbon anode, capable of reaching 67% charge in 30 minutes, and a display that peaks at 3,000 nits of brightness. AI features include Now Nudge, which surfaces contextual information such as calendar reminders and suggested actions throughout the day. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra will launch on August 7 starting at $2,099 in Violet Shadow and Green Shadow.
Galaxy Z Fold8
Samsung also introduced the standard Galaxy Z Fold8, which retains the Flex Titanium display structure while becoming the lightest Galaxy Fold released to date. The device focuses on multitasking, media consumption, and content creation.
Its 4:3 inner display provides a larger viewing area, while the camera system includes dual 50-megapixel wide and ultra-wide sensors. One of the software additions is My FanCam, an AI-powered feature that automatically tracks and centers a selected subject during video recording. Samsung says the Fold8 can deliver more than 26 hours of video playback thanks to its 4,800 mAh battery. The Galaxy Z Fold8 launches on August 7 with a starting price of $1,899.
Galaxy Z Flip8
Samsung’s flip-style foldable also received an update with the Galaxy Z Flip8, measuring just 6.1 millimeters when unfolded. Running One UI 9 based on Android 17, the device expands the functionality of the external FlexWindow display, allowing users to run supported apps directly from the cover screen without opening the phone.
The Flip8 also introduces a camcorder-style grip mode paired with Super Steady stabilization for handheld video recording. Another software feature, Now Brief, provides personalized information such as weather updates and health summaries directly on the FlexWindow. The Galaxy Z Flip8 will be available on August 7 in Pink, Graphite, Cream, and Mint, starting at $1,199.
Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2
Samsung also expanded its wearable lineup with the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2.
The Galaxy Watch9 focuses on health monitoring, tracking five key biometric indicators during sleep to establish a personal baseline. The watch generates a daily heart health score and fitness index, while an upcoming FDA-cleared feature is expected to provide additional insights into potential sleep apnea risks.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 targets users seeking longer battery life and enhanced durability. Powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform, it offers up to 60 hours of battery life and a display capable of reaching 5,000 nits of brightness. Built with a titanium case and an air-pocket ventilation band, it also meets the EN13319 standard for diving accessories. Through Samsung’s partnership with Mares, the smartwatch includes decompression dive computer functionality, alongside turn-by-turn navigation and hydration tracking. The Galaxy Watch9 starts at $379, while the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 will retail for $699. Both launch on August 7.
Ecosystem Updates
Samsung also announced several updates aimed at expanding its broader ecosystem. Quick Share will gain improved compatibility between Android and iOS devices through QR-based file sharing, reducing the need for third-party applications. Samsung also confirmed deeper integration with Google’s Gemini AI across its new foldables. The pre-installed Gemini Notebook app will analyze photos, documents, and audio to assist with organization and productivity tasks, while purchasers of the new foldables will receive six months of Google AI Pro at no additional cost.
Samsung Wallet is also expanding with the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Card in the United States and native stablecoin support for compatible digital transactions.
First Look at Samsung’s Smart Glasses
Samsung concluded the presentation with an early preview of its upcoming smart glasses, developed in collaboration with Google, Gentle Monster, and Warby Parker.

Rather than relying on large built-in displays, the glasses use an audio-first AI interface that allows users to interact with Gemini through voice commands. Samsung demonstrated features including visual identification, whiteboard summarization, and hands-free video recording. The glasses are also designed to work alongside Galaxy Watch devices through double-pinch gesture controls. Samsung expects the new wearable category to launch later this fall, further expanding its AI-focused ecosystem beyond smartphones and smartwatches.
