Star Wars Outlaws announces a $130 special edition of the game, and fans are not having it
Ubisoft revealed the various editions available for Star Wars Outlaws, with the “Ultimate Edition” going for $130 for in-game content, a digital art book, early access, and more.
You can’t please everyone, especially when the issue involves someone’s wallet. Star Wars Outlaws recently revealed its story trailer, in which the different editions of the game were also confirmed. As is usual for Ubisoft games, the publisher will release a standard edition, but also Gold and Ultimate versions. It is the latter that has generated plenty of criticism since it costs $129.99. One can enter into the debate of whether or not it is worth it for the content it offers, but it is best to put things in perspective. What about other Ubisoft titles?
In the case of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which released in 2020, games had not yet risen to $69.99 on consoles. That change was applied later and affected the rest of the top-of-the-line products ( Assassin’s Creed Mirage is not a valid example because it came out at a reduced price). In this case, the Ultimate Edition was sold for $120, although later a Complete Edition was sold at the same price as the Star Wars Outlaws Ultimate. In the case of Far Cry 6, the premium edition was also priced at $120.
The difference compared to the Gold Edition is that in addition to early access and the season pass, it includes a series of in-game content and a digital art book.
