Bethesda

Starfield is getting one of the most requested features from the PC community

The game will be compatible with Nvidia DLSS, although the update will be available to Steam Beta players first, before being rolled out to the rest of the community.

Update:
Starfield

Bethesda has promised to spend years improving Starfield, the new video game from the creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. As a long-term project, the developer will add new features as it releases updates. The next on the list has to do with Nvidia DLSS, whose compatibility has not yet been incorporated into the PC. However, the North American studio has revealed that it will be added in the next update, although it will be released in the Steam Beta before that.

“We’ve been hard at work on Starfield updates and will be putting our next one into Steam Beta next week,” they explained. “This update will feature Nvidia DLSS support with frame generation,” not to mention “display and HDR controls for supported systems, and other optimizations and improvements.” Bethesda has asked for user feedback before releasing the patch to all Xbox and PC players in the near future.

Frame Generation works in conjunction with Nvidia DLSS to create a new frame for every frame rendered. Thanks to this type of technology, games will perform better and the image will look sharper. Bethesda also points out that this only applies to gamers with an Nvidia GPU. For those wondering, the AMD equivalent (FSR3) will arrive in a future update, as the studio itself states in the press release.

Starfield, a commitment to the future

“This is a game we’ll be supporting for years and years to come, so please keep all the feedback coming! Even if we don’t get to your requests immediately, we’d love to do it in the future, like city maps,” said the company on social media. “Our priority initially is making sure any top blocker bugs or stability issues are addressed, and adding quality-of-life features that many are asking for.”

Starfield marks the beginning of something new, but also the departure of a Bethesda leyend. Pete Hines, head of communications and marketing at the company for almost 25 years, has used the launch of the new IP to step down. The executive has revealed that he is retiring to explore his interests and passions, and to enjoy life. “This was not a decision I came to easily or quickly, but after an amazing career, culminating in the incredible launch of Sarfield, it feels like the time is right.”

Bethesda’s new role-playing game is now available on PC, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox Game Pass. Expansions and more space adventures will be available in the future.
