Starfield will be heaven for modders: its tools allow for the creation of whole planets

Starfield, Bethesda’s next big RPG, is launching on September 6 and the devs promise modding tools so powerful so as to create planets in the game.

Update:
Starfield

Conquer the stars is in your hands. Starfield, the newest production from Bethesda Game Studios, observes the sky and lets us dream of the universe. As in other games of the same studio, PC users will have the opportunity to enjoy content created by the community itself. What we did not know is that modders will be able to build entire planets.

This was stated by Pete Hines, vice president of communication and marketing at Bethesda, in a question and answer session on the German Bethesda channel on Twitch. ”How would you like to make a planet?”, he said, without providing further details in this regard. Is there a tool available to model a system? The possibilities are vast and the imagination of the modders infinite, so we will have to wait to see what comes out of all this.

“I think Starfield’s going to be a modder’s paradise”, Todd Howard himself said in an interview with Kinda Funny. “It’s part of our DNA here – we’ve been doing it for over 20 years. Our community around that – because look, we’ve usually been classically single-player. That’s been our community, and people are still modding our games and playing them.”

Why doesn’t the protagonist of Starfield have a voice?

Yes, the new Bethesda work was about to have a protagonist with a voice, but the company backed down when they had already hired an actor. The reason for this decision is that they wanted the player to truly feel like the character, so they thought a silent lead would work better.

Starfield will be available on Game Pass from day 1, although it is no longer possible to access the $1 offer of the service, since Microsoft withdrew it just before the premiere of its space epic. The title will go on sale on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC on September 6, although there will be early access from the 1st of that same month.
