Xbox pulls $1 Game Pass offer ahead of Starfield release

Microsoft is retiring this $1 trial period from the Microsoft Store ahead of the launch of Xbox’s most anticipated game.

Update:
Starfield

Less than two months. That’s how long the $1 Xbox Game Pass offer lasted for its two-week trial period, and the launch of Starfield is an unbeatable opportunity to monetize Microsoft’s subscription service. As a result, the promotion has already disappeared from the Microsoft Store this weekend, leaving only the usual subscription options: $10.99 for the regular version and $16.99 for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Gone for a while a few months ago, the offer returned to calm the spirits of players after the price increase of Game Pass, as it was previously $9.99 and $14.99 respectively. However, the trial period of the offer was reduced from one month to one week, an option that the imminent launch of Starfield has prompted Microsoft to withdraw, although at the moment it is not known if this is a one-off or permanent.

Microsoft is aware that the anticipated launch of Starfield will make the vast majority of gamers not mind paying the $10.99 that the cheapest Xbox Game Pass subscription costs to enjoy the game. The official launch will be on September 6, and like all exclusives in the Xbox ecosystem, it will be available on the service from day one. We are talking about what is probably the most important launch of Xbox Game Studios since the arrival of the Xbox Series X|S .

How to play Starfield early?

As we said, Starfield officially arrives on September 6th, and the Standard Edition is the one that will be available on Xbox Game Pass from the same day, but the most impatient can play it before. You can also opt to purchase the Constellation Edition of the game, which includes, among many other extras, a week of early access that could be enjoyed starting this Friday, August 31.
