Take-Two hints at GTA 6 release date

The long-awaited GTA 6 is already in development and Rockstar Games has not confirmed its release date, although there are hints that point to a window.

Update:
GTA

The development of GTA 6 is underway, but Rockstar Games has not even announced its title, referring to it as “the next installment of Grand Theft Auto”. Despite leaks and some unsubstantiated assumptions, Take-Two has not bowed to pressure and will not reveal the video game until the studio considers it. Therefore, nothing has been said about the release date, although during the financial earnings call, the company left a small hint about its possible release window.

Without naming GTA, Take-Two is confident that in fiscal year 2025 (April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025) it will make a billion-dollar profit of more than $8 billion in Net Bookings alone. Few titles have the power to take Grand Theft Auto 6 by storm, so everything seems to point to the possibility of Rockstar’s long-awaited work being released in that time frame.

GTA 6 in fiscal year 2025?

“For the last several years, we have been preparing our business to release an incredibly robust pipeline of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of success,” Take-Two assured.

“In Fiscal 2025, we expect to enter this new era by launching several groundbreaking titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry and enable us to achieve over $8 billion in Net Bookings and over $1 billion in Adjusted Unrestricted Operating Cash Flow. We expect to sustain this momentum by delivering even higher levels of operating results in Fiscal 2026 and beyond,” they added.

In addition to GTA 6 and annual games like NBA 2K, there is a new Mafia on the way, an unreleased installment of Bioshock, Judas - the next from Bioshock creator Ken Levin - as well as a new IP. At first glance, it doesn’t look like any of them will be able to reach 8 billion in bookings, so all eyes are on Grand Theft Auto.
