Teacher uses Assassin's Creed Odyssey to teach history to students
His intention was to talk to them about the Battle of Thermopylae.
Sometimes we see news about crimes and violent acts related to video games. It is not always clear to what extent this form of entertainment can be linked to such events, but today we are not going to talk about that, but about the opposite: another example of how video games can have very beneficial effects in various aspects.
This is the case of an American teacher who shared a video on social networks in which he appears to be playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in the middle of class, in front of all his students. The reason for this initiative? Nothing more or less than to teach them about the Battle of Thermopylae.
Ubisoft takes the recreation of historical events very seriously in its flagship saga, so the Battle of Themopylae, an event that took place during the Second Spartan War in which Sparta and Athens united to face the invasion of the Persian Empire of Xerxes I, appears in a section of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

It is also one of the most critically acclaimed. Our collegues at Spain gave it a 9 out of 10 and said that “the protagonists have charisma and the plot is entertaining and exciting. The artificial intelligence fails, which has a direct impact on stealth, which has not improved as expected. Otherwise, and with apologies to Assassin’s Creed II, this is the best chapter in the series.”
