The big loser of The Game Awards 2023: 8 nominations and no trophies
One of the best games of the year that, to the surprise of many, failed to win an award at The Game Awards.
One of the best games of 2023 is without a doubt Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the title from Insomniac Games for PlayStation 5 that stood out in a year full of great releases. No wonder it was one of the projects that received the most nominations at The Game Awards 2023, but incredibly, it did not manage to win any of the categories for which it was eligible.
How is this possible? A very high level, with games like Baldur’s Gate 3, Alan Wake 2, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Forza Motorsport and Hi-Fi Rush all competing for awards in the same categories as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. A total of 8, the same number as Alan Wake 2, which won three of them, and one less than the 9 for Baldur’s Gate 3, which won six awards and confirmed the greatness of a game to remember.

The big winners of The Game Awards 2023
The year 2023 will long be remembered as one of the best in history, and the fact that a game of the quality of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 failed to win any of the categories in which it was nominated says a lot about the enormous level of demand there was at this year’s event. Video games to remember, and one big winner that stands out from the rest: Baldur’s Gate 3.
The work of Larian Studios received a total of nine nominations, of which it managed to win six. A huge number that indicates the enormous quality of a game to remember, which was followed with three and two awards, respectively, Alan Wake 2 and Forza Motorsport.
