The Continental, the John Wick prequel from Prime Video, reveals its first poster
The John Wick-verse is getting a prequel in the form of a miniseries focusing on the hotel full of secret assassins in New York, and here’s a first look at it.
John Wick is still on everyone’s minds. After the successful premiere of its fourth part, those responsible continue to support the license with the development of several projects in parallel. One of those is The Continental, a three-episode miniseries premiering soon on Prime Video. And the project just got its first teaser.
The poster, which you can see below these lines, shows the elevator buttons of the great Continental Hotel, the complex of the murder network in the heart of NY. “Prepare for check-in”, can be read in the header of the buttons. A small blood stain at the bottom suggests that the action doses will remain intact, as the license usually does.
What is known about The Continental?
Little information is known about the series, except that it will be a prequel of the movies where we will see a young version of Winston, the hotel owner, during the time John Wick was making his name. This time it will be Colin Woodell who plays him, instead of Ian McShane, who we see in the role in the movies. Charon will also appear played by Ayomide Adegu.
Mel Gibson leads the cast playing Cormac, along with Colin Woodell himself (Winston Scott) and Ayomide Adegu (Charon). They are accompanied by Peter Greene (Uncle Charlie), Nhung Kate (Yen), Jessica Allain (Lou), Katie McGrath (The Adjudicator), Adam Shapiro (Lemmy), Jeremy Bob (Mayhew), Sallay Garnett (The Janitor), Ben Robson ( Frankie), Ray McKinnon (Jenkins), Mishel Prada (KD), Marina Mazepa, Claire Cooper and Virág Bárány, among others.
“The John Wick films have created one of the most immersive, detailed and enjoyable universes we’ve seen on screen in the last decade”, explained Chris Mansolillo, director of content acquisition at Amazon, during the announcement. “We are extremely proud to play a part in continuing to build that universe, offering viewers an insight into the origins of the infamous Continental Hotel and its incredible characters.” It doesn’t have a release date yet.
