The Deadpool & Wolverine trailer throws a joke at the character’s creator, and this was his reaction

Rob Liefeld continues to be mocked by many for his peculiar drawing style, with Deadpool himself being the latest to throw a joke at him. But it seems like he’s in on it.

Update:
The Deadpool & Wolverine trailer throws a joke at the character’s creator, and this was his reaction

The Deadpool & Wolverine trailer hid all kinds of easter eggs and winks that have been analyzed with devotion ever since its release. One of them is a sign that can be seen in the background, on which you can read “Liefeld’s Just Feet”, which may go completely unnoticed by most, but that has huge meaning for fans. The co-creator of Deadpool alongside Fabian Nicieza is Rob Liefeld, an artist who became a global star at Marvel and later as co-founder of Image, shaping the creation of X-Force from the ashes of The New Mutants, a commercially irrelevant series that he turned into a best-seller alongside Nicieza as a writer, consolidating his star status.

The fact is that despite Liefeld’s success and the popularity of many of his works, his drawing style has always been harshly criticized for his tremendously exaggerated bodies and anatomies even within the standards of comic books, in addition to his lack of finesse when it comes to making more delicate parts such as hands and feet (which is why he’s always admitted that he avoids drawing them because he doesn’t know how to do it).

A recurring joke

It is not the first time that in a Deadpool movie they laugh at this side of his creator. In Deadpool 2 there is a dialogue in which they make fun of Domino’s powers, stating that “being lucky is not a superpower” and that it would possibly be invented by someone who doesn’t know how to draw feet. Liefeld, true to his style, has come forward to confront the joke to confirm that it is something he himself approved a few months ago.

Since his creation, to which he maintains the rights, is one of the most popular Marvel characters and is about to star in what seems to be another very lucrative film, the Californian has reasons to take things with humor.
