Naughty Dog

The director of ‘Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet’ hypes up the game with this statement

Neil Druckmann, the director of the most recent Naughty Dog super hits, shares his excitement for ‘Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet’ with a mysterious post.

Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet

Neil Druckmann is excited. The director and writer of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and The Last of Us Part 2 has been working on four years on a new video game, a title that Naughty Dog revealed at the end of The Game Awards 2024. Although the details are rather sparse, the developer has fueled the expectation on social networks. He has done so through his Instagram account, where he published a collage with some of the video games that the studio has developed throughout its history, among which is the new Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, in development for PS5.

“It’s about love” (The Last of Us), friendship (Uncharted: The Lost Legacy), adventure (Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception), heroics(Jak & Daxter), and faith (Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet). That’s what it says in the image shared by Neil Druckmann. And what does Druckmann say about it? “You think you know… but you have no idea. Naughty Dog’s 5th franchise is our wildest adventure. We cannot wait to show you more!”

Faith, the main theme of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet?

What has been confirmed at the moment is that the game stars Tati Gabrielle, who plays bounty hunter Jordan A. Mun. For reasons that remain to be clarified, the protagonist will end up on Sempiria, an isolated planet from which no one has left alive in hundreds of years. In the trailer, she’s seen in a desolate place, where a murderous android appears. The story will have something to do with a fictional religion: “What happens when you focus your faith on different institutions?” asked the director in an interview with The New York Times.

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet has no confirmed release date yet. It has been announced for PS5, although all titles developed by PlayStation Studios end up coming to PC sooner rather than later.
