The hype for GTA 6 is through the roof: “They’re trying to create the best thing anyone’s ever seen in entertainment”

Take-Two’s president does not lower fans’ expectations.

GTA 6 historia del medio

The delay of GTA 6 was a cold shower for fans, who saw the second trailer and expected more. It is unmatched in terms of graphics and technology, and Rockstar promises that everything seen runs on 2020 hardware. Insane! However, the president of Take-Two Interactive, the game’s publisher, isn’t dampening the hype with statements that add fuel to the fire.

The words of the president of Take-Two fuel the hype about GTA 6

“It’s a pretty short delay, it’s less than six months. Generally, when we announce a date that’s certain, we’re able to hit that date,” Strauss Zelnick said in an interview with CNBC. “But the key is that Rockstar Games is trying to create the best thing that anyone’s ever seen in entertainment - not just interactive entertainment. Consumers have huge hopes for the title.”

Zelnick reiterates Rockstar’s statement, stressing that the delay is due to their desire to continue polishing the game and creating the best possible experience. Despite industry voices like Jason Schreier suggesting that the release date is not set in stone and that a change may be imminent, they seem pretty committed to releasing the game on May 26, 2026.

It’s clear that Rockstar Games is focusing solely on the console version. The PC port will arrive at an undetermined point in the future. However, this work is relegated to a stage after base development. This allows all engineers to focus on optimizing the engine’s resources for the 2020 PS5 and Xbox Series X|S hardware.
