Fans of the legendary Mortal Kombat franchise are in for a treat. In addition to the recent news of the upcoming live-action movie, the relentless T-1000 from ‘Terminator 2′ (1991), with the look and voice of Robert Patrick, has arrived in Mortal Kombat 1 to unleash the wrath of Skynet on the game’s fighters. In this news, we show you this ruthless fighter in all its glory and tell you how to get it.

Skynet takes control in Mortal Kombat 1: This is what the T-1000 from ‘Terminator 2′ looks like and how to get it

After several weeks of teasers and all kinds of previews, the T-1000 has finally arrived in Mortal Kombat 1. Players who own the Khaos Reigns expansion and the $49.99 Kombat Pass 2 will be able to play as the deadly cybernetic killer in Early Access starting March 18, 2025. However, those who do not own the Season Pass or simply want to purchase it separately will have to wait another week: the T-1000 will be available for purchase individually on March 25th for $7.99. With the addition of the T-1000, NetherRealm Studios continues to expand the game’s roster of iconic pop culture figures, taking the violence and spectacle to the next level following the arrival of other popular characters such as Omni-Man from ‘Invincible’, Homelander from ‘The Boys’, and Ghostface from ‘Scream’.

In a playable level, the T-1000 is a fast and deadly fighter, thanks to the fact that it is not a robot in the strict sense of the word, but, as in the movie “Terminator 2”, it is made of a “polymer alloy”. This allows him to change shape at will, forming sharp blades on his limbs or even transforming into liquid metal to dodge attacks and surprise his opponents. His fighting style is inevitably reminiscent of Glacius in Killer Instinct, another character with the ability to change his body at will to surprise his opponents. In the hands of experienced players, the T-1000 promises to be a real threat on the battlefield and has great potential to change the game’s tier list in their favor.

NetherRealm Studios has not missed the opportunity to include references to Robert Patrick’s career in movies and TV series in this new fighter. The in-game character features his face and voice from the original, but it is his interactions with other characters that stand out the most. When the T-1000 confronts Conan, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, he mistakes him for a T-800, a direct reference to their iconic and brutal feud in Terminator 2′. The funniest reference, however, comes during their clash against the Peacemaker: when John Cena’s character sees him, he mistakes him for the White Dragon, his own father in the HBO series, also played by Robert Patrick. These interactions add an extra layer of humor and fan service that Mortal Kombat fans will appreciate.
