The reason why streamer xQc was banned from this famous DayZ server
Controversial Canadian streamer xQc was immediately banned from one of Bohemia Interactive’s servers with the phrase: “Thanks, but no thanks.”
Controversial streamer xQc makes headlines again with another ban. Throughout his career, Canadian streamer Felix Lengyel has received warnings and reports for activities that are not within the established rules. On this occasion, however, it is a very atypical ban after an experience in the famous multiplayer survival title, Day Z.
xQc banned from DayOne Chernarus 1PP
Last March 31st, xQc started his livestream via Kick to play the multiplayer title DayZ with some friends. The players joined roleplaying servers, played survivors and even acted out the deaths. After several servers, they ended up on DayOne Chernarus 1PP, a popular server that focuses on a more hardcore gaming experience. However, xQc was kicked and banned from the server, receiving a short but blunt message from the admin: “Thanks, but no thanks.” The streamer’s response was not long in coming.
“Bro, bro, bro, kick by admin. Banned. It says, ‘Thanks, but no thanks.’ What did I do?” xQc questioned. “Bro, I’m playing the video game. Brother, brother. I was roleplaying. I didn’t do anything. Brother, I literally hid the fucking server. I did everything to make everybody nice. Dude, I was just trying to play on the server called fucking DayOne Chernarus 1PP No Bases|Adventure, dude. I was just trying to play [the game.] What the fuck? Like, what the heckington, dude? Christ.”
Why was xQc banned from DayZ?
While xQc’s track record is not impeccable, what caused him to be banned from this server? On the one hand, some users have mentioned that the admins of games like DayZ become extremely strict in order to keep the community as healthy as possible.
On the other hand, and according to Dexerto, Greedgodx, one of the players who was with xQc during yesterday’s stream, suggests that the reason is simply because he is a streamer. It’s not that being a streamer is bad, but what it can do. xQc is known for his millions of fans and how that has led to stream sniping. This can cause people playing on the same server to see the streamer and give them an advantage or disrupt their gameplay.
Although xQc had hidden the name of the server by saying “I literally hid the server, I did everything nice, I just played on the server,” he later revealed the name and address of the server. So far, the streamer is still banned from one of the most popular servers in the game.
