MCU
The running times of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ have been revealed
The Russo brothers seem to want to repeat the structure of their celebrated and successful ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’.

The expected climax of the saga of the MCU multiverse is getting closer and closer, a macro event that will take place with the release of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ in 2026 and 2027, respectively. And before the arrival in theaters of the new Avengers crossover, Marvel Studios has only two films waiting to be released in theaters this year: ‘Thunderbolts*’ and ‘Fantastic 4: First Steps’. That is why Marvel has all its hopes on the next two crossovers, of which the approximate duration was disclosed by their very top executives: the Russo brothers.
Following the formula of ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Endgame’
The Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe, are responsible for some of the favorite movies of the MCU fans, such as ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, ‘Captain America: Civil War’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’. And for their next two crossovers, they hope to repeat the formula of their previous two event movies, including their length.
So much so, that during an interview about their new movie ‘The Electric State’ for Netflix, the filmmakers talked about the possible length of their two new Avengers movies. Of course, the challenge is significant, as they must complete a substantial number of multiversal plots and establish a new superheroic universe. Not surprisingly, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will feature the Fantastic Four, Doctor Strange, Sam Wilson’s Captain America, Robert Downey Jr.’s new Doctor Doom, and the rumored return of Chris Evans as a malevolent Captain America.
Regarding ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ it’s expected to be the biggest event movie of all time, even bigger than ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ so we have a lot of footage ahead of us. “If I had to bet, I’d say the first one is two and a half hours long, and the second one is three hours long,” the Russos said about the length of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, respectively.

They also mention that it will take about six months to shoot each of the two Avengers movies, the first of which will be shot this coming summer. We will still have to wait quite a while to see if the Russos’ estimates on the duration of both films are real, since ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will not be released until May 1, 2026 and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ will not do the same until May 7, 2027.
