The wait is over: Avengers: Doomsday now has confirmed release date

The next Avengers movie is soon to become a reality, so here’s everything we know so far about ‘Doomsday’.

With the return of the Avengers to theaters almost a year away, the beginning of the end of the Multiverse Saga is also approaching. At SDCC 2024, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed that they have a clear plan for the next two Avengers movies after the narrative collapse around Kang. Not only that, but the directors and the actor playing the great villain were also confirmed, as well as who is behind the mask.

Despite being closer to its release date, we still don’t have all the information we would like. However, we know much more than we did in August of last year. Here’s everything we officially know about the upcoming Avengers movie and its sequel, which will be released in two parts.

When will ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ release in theaters?

For now, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026. ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is set to arrive a year later, on May 7, 2027. Both films are directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, who are returning to Marvel Studios after directing Infinity War and Endgame. According to the Russos, Doomsday will be about 2.5 hours long, while Secret Wars will be about 3 hours long.

Full screen

Between the two films, we will see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in a new adventure, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which will be released on July 31, 2026.

Who’s in the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ cast?

There have been many rumors, from the idea that more than 60 superheroes will appear on screen to the possibility of Chris Evans returning as an evil Captain America. However, one thing is now official: Robert Downey Jr. will return, but not as Iron Man. Instead, he will play Doctor Doom, the great villain of these two films.

In late March, Marvel held an extensive livestream to announce that production of Doomsday had already begun. The cast was revealed during the stream and includes figures from not only the MCU but also other previous Marvel franchises.
