This decision regarding Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Switch 2 angers the community once again

The Japanese company has confirmed that the expansion pass will have to be purchased separately.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are two of the games that will receive a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, an enhanced version with graphical and performance improvements (and in some cases, new content). During the Nintendo Direct, it was not too clear whether or not the first video game would include the expansions and extra content, but Nintendo has clarified this in a statement to IGN. And no, it’s not good news. “It won’t include the DLC Expansion Pack,” the company said. “The DLC will be available as a separate purchase.”

In other words, anyone who does not own a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Switch and wants to buy the edition for the new console will have to pay $70 for the game, but also an additional $20 to get the full package. This, of course, has once again inflamed the community, which has already been very unhappy with other decisions made by those in Kyoto, especially regarding their pricing policy. The Expansion Pass includes three Treasure Chests and the DLCs The Master Trials and The Champion’s Ballad.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are included for Nintendo Switch Online+Expansion Pass subscribers.

Mario Kart World, the first game at $80

Everyone assumed that it would be Rockstar Games that would raise the price of video games, but Nintendo has decided that Mario Kart World will cost $79.99. Doug Bowser, president of the North American division, explained that the company will price each game based on different factors such as development time, amount of content or cost. For example, Donkey Kong Bananza will cost $79.99 in physical form, $10 less than Mario Kart World.

Nintendo Switch 2 will be released on June 5th along with Mario Kart World.
