This is what the mysterious C Button does in the new Nintendo Switch 2’s Joy-Cons 2
A button designed for a social experience.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct finally happened, and with all the excitement and good news, like the new Mario Kart World (that looks awesome), Nintendo finally revealed what the mysterious “C Button” does in the new Joy-Con 2 design.
The feature is called GameChat, and it enables social features while gaming with the console. When the button is pressed, a chat menu will come up in the console, where player’s will be able to start a party, mute their mic, enable video chat, and even share their screen with their friends while playing.

For this, there will be a Nintendo Switch 2 Camera that can be connected to the game in docked mode. It will cut out the player and show them to their friends on the chat with their gameplay on the background, and even inside selected games.
The systems microphone will isolate the users’ voice from background noises in handheld or docked modes, to provide the best chat experience possible.
What else is new in the Joy-Con 2?
The new Joy-Con 2 will be magnetically attached to the Nintendo Switch 2. They will still have a release button in the back, as well as bigger SR/SR Buttons, and also bigger Joysticks. Both will have an exciting new feature: being a mouse.

Yes, it’s not only the right one, both will have a mouse function to play games like Civilization VII. Players will have to hold them with the magnetic side downward to mimic a traditional mouse. Could there be a new Mario Paint on the works? Only Nintendo knows.
