When does the League of Legends 2024 Season begin, is there a pre-season period?

2024 is approaching fast, and for League of Legends that means the beginning of a new ranked season which will bring big changes from its start.

New seasons in League of Legends are something of a rebirth for many players. An opportunity to start over in the Riot Games MOBA, which historically has had a pre-season to prepare fans for all the changes to come, in order to stand out in the best possible way in the qualifying games.

When does the League of Legends 2024 season start?

To the surprise of many, there will be no pre-season in 2024, with the current season lasting until January 3, and changes for the new one hitting the servers on January 9. A change in Riot Games’ modus operandi that may translate to a higher level of competition for many players, with an official season constantly active in the game.

A 2024 season full of changes and updates for League of Legends

Important changes are coming to League of Legends in the 2024 season. A notable update to something so iconic in the Summoner’s Rift, Baron Nashor, which will have three new forms, and depending on which one appears, the terrain will be altered in one way or another. In addition, modifications to the Rift Herald, some larvae that will appear in the game in the place that corresponded to it on the map and there will also be changes to the jungle.

A historic 2023 at a competitive level

League of Legends is much more than just a video game, with it being one of the most prominent competitive environments in the world of esports. Worlds 2023 was held in South Korea, and marked the return of T1 to the top of the competition seven years after their last triumph, the historic South Korean club’s fourth world title and confirmation, if it was needed, that there has never been a Riot Games MOBA player like Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-Hyeok.
